Trouser Jams – Pocket-based musical funsies!

Alright, “What the hell does that title mean?” I hear you ask. Well, this is all about a collection of tracks that I put together in 2022, and all of them were created using Pocket Operators. These are little calculator-like devices that, as the name suggests, easily fit in your pocket and let you do something musically creative almost any time that suits you (and assuming you have a set of wired headphones to hand).

I found myself creating little tracks a lot a couple of years ago on these things, specifically on the PO-33 (which is a sampler). They are quite basic in what they can do, quirky and what you get at the end can sometimes be a little rough around the edges. But, still, a lot of fun to use and the results can be quite interesting.

I just released a collection of these as an album, titled ‘Trouser Jams‘. Available on Apple Music, Spotify. Is it the slickest-produced album you’ll hear this year? Nope, far from it. But I am making it available nonetheless as an example of what these little devices can be used for. Enjoy the rough edges!
